PORT LUDLOW — Voters have selected a hydraulic engineer, a retired Boeing executive and a former police officer and architect to be the new commissioners of the Port Ludlow Drainage District.
Jefferson County elections officials counted ballots Thursday in the first-ever races for drainage district commissioner seats.
Coming out on top were Richard Regan, Jim Laker and write-in candidate Leland Amundson.
The district was formed two years ago to take care of longstanding flooding problems in the North Bay neighborhood.
Two candidates had filed for the three commissioner spots up for grabs, election officials said. Two write-in candidates later entered the race.
The top three vote-getters were elected to office for varied term lengths, depending on the number of votes they received.
