PORT TOWNSEND — A Port Hadlock woman was in satisfactory condition Wednesday morning after she was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle following a collision at the intersection of state Highways 19 and 20.
A 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by Dawn M. Crocker, 48, of Port Hadlock was northbound on Highway 19 in the left-turn lane at Highway 20 on Tuesday afternoon, according to a memo from the Washington State Patrol.
A 2021 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driven by Ricky L. Neitzel, 49, of Silverdale was westbound on Highway 20 at Highway 19.
Crocker’s pickup went straight through the intersection and struck Neitzel’s pickup, the memo stated. Crocker’s pickup came to rest in the westbound ditch of Highway 20 and Neitzel’s pickup came to rest in the westbound lane of Highway 20.
Crocker was airlifted to Harborview. She was wearing her seatbelt but was cited for second-degree negligent driving, the State Patrol said.
Neitzel was not injured but was taken to Jefferson Healthcare by aid car. He was wearing his seatbelt, the State Patrol said.
John C. Twogood, 52, of Bremerton was a passenger in Neitzel’s truck. He also was not injured but was transported to Jefferson Healthcare by aid car. He was wearing his seatbelt, the State Patrol said.
The cause of the wreck was under investigation, but neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the State Patrol said.
