PORT HADLOCK — Hadlock Days offered lots of down-home fun Saturday, as the annual community celebration filled Kivley Center and the grassy field beyond.
“It’s down-home, country fun,” said Cindy Jansson, who came from Sequim with Gary Fuller for the event. “We’re loving it.”
Jansson and Fuller read about Hadlock Days in the Peninsula Daily News on Friday and thought it would be a fun event to attend.
They entered several of the games, taking first place in the egg toss and second in the watermelon toss, winning a fishing pole and birdhouse.
Bethany Ross, 22, and her sister, Tara Schindler, came from Brinnon for the festival with their father, Bud Schindler.
They said they wanted to do something as a family.
Ross and Tara, 16, entered the water balloon toss, with Tara ending up on the wrong end of the losing throw.
“No way were we going to enter the egg toss,” Ross said.
A sack race, airplane throw and other games attracted about three dozen children and adults to the grassy field behind the center.
