PORT HADLOCK — Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies captured a man Tuesday morning who walked away from their jail last week.
Dispatchers received a tip that Joseph Steven King, 18, was in a taxi at the Port Hadlock Bank of America, Jefferson County Undersheriff Ken Sukert said.
Officers converged on the cab and arrested King without trouble, Sukert said.
Reports will be submitted to the county Prosecuting Attorney’s Office asking for King to be charged with second-degree escape, Sukert said.
The escape charge could add a Class C felony to King’s record. He was originally booked in jail last month on gross misdemeanors — driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and second-degree driving with a suspended license.
