PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles boy has been named runner-up in a Harry Potter look-alike contest in Seattle.
As a result, Connor Gouge, 8, and his family attended a sneak peek of the movie “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” which opens nationwide Friday.
Gouge entered a contest advertised in a Seattle newspaper after his grandmother saw the entry information.
The contest asked for photographs of children dressed as their favorite character from the Harry Potter series written by JK Rowling.
Although the boy admits Harry Potter is not his current favorite, he likes him “OK,” a shy Connor said Monday.
A photo of Connor dressed as Harry Potter, complete with a cape, brown spotted owl, hat and, of course, the character’s signature glasses, won him the runner-up prize package.
