PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles woman has been treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center on Tuesday after the sport utility vehicle she was driving was struck in the rear by a pickup truck.
The wreck took place at about 6 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 east of Port Angeles.
Jason L. Beaudette, 31, was driving a white 1997 GMC pickup truck east on Highway 101 when the Blue 1999 Ford Explorer, driven by Tammy E. Ratliff, 54, of Port Angeles, in front of him slowed for traffic near Traylor’s Restaurant, the State Patrol said.
The pickup truck hit the Ford SUV from behind, the State Patrol said.
Beaudette was not injured, the State Patrol said, while Ratliff was taken to OMC in Port Angeles. She had been discharged by Tuesday morning.
The State Patrol said the cause of the wreck was Beaudette following too closely and was considering a charge of following too close against him.
Both the SUV and truck were damaged but driven from the scene.
