HAMILTON, Mont. — A Port Angeles woman has accepted a plea bargain agreement and pleaded guilty to five felony drug charges in Ravalli County, Mont.
Marlen Ravelo, 47, pleaded guilty in exchange for a 30-year prison sentence, according to a Ravalli Republic article.
She also agreed to plead guilty on federal charges she faces in Washington state that are expected to result in additional years in prison.
Ravelo was arrested in Montana in October after sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle she and two others were in.
The Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office found nearly a half-pound of heroin and almost as much methamphetamine in the vehicle, valued at $250,000.
Court records said Ravelo was stopped Oct. 15 after she bought heroin and meth at a Taco Bell in Washington. In her vehicle, investigators found 2,250 grams of heroin and 342 grams of meth.
Ravelo and Mason Gregory Skerbeck, 23, of Port Angeles allegedly took the drugs to Montana to sell.
They met Crystal Lee Griffin, 21, of Stevensville, who helped them sell the drugs at the University of Montana and in Stevensville.
Skerbeck and Griffin were arrested with Ravelo.
Skerbeck accepted an agreement and pleaded guilty to drug charges. His deal included a sentence of 15 years with the Montana Department of Corrections, including 10 years suspended.
Griffin’s plea agreement included a similar sentence with 12 years suspended.
Ravelo, Skerbeck and Griffin are being asked to pay a fine of $78,750 each to be deposited in the Montana state general fund.
Their plea agreements allow them to seek waivers or modifications to those fines.
