New Dex Media Inc. phone books distributed for Qwest are arriving in Clallam County this week, and the Nippon Paper Industries USA Co. Ltd. mill in Port Angeles has agreed to recycle the old ones.
During December, Clallam residents and businesses can drop their old phone books in a special collection box in the Swain’s General Store parking lot, 601 E. First St., Port Angeles.
Murrey’s Olympic Disposal will transport the old books to Nippon Paper’s recycling center for remanufacture into new phone book paper.
