PORT ANGELES — The four-day water emergency should end this morning.
The leaking water main at 14th and D streets and the broken valve located at 16th and D streets that fueled the Stage 4 emergency were fixed Monday, Public Works Director Glenn Cutler said.
The line brings water from the Elwha River to the city’s five reservoirs.
The reservoirs began refilling about 7 p.m. Monday.
Cutler said the water emergency should be over by 7 a.m. today.
However, the intersection at 16th and D streets will be closed through today.
The valve that was replaced is located in the middle of the street, Cutler said.
Crews need to fill the excavation hole and compact it properly so the road doesn’t develop a sinkhole, he said.
