PORT ANGELES — A U.S. Highway 101 paving project east of here that’s been backing up traffic for miles probably will last through Wednesday, a state Department of Transportation official said.
Only two of those days will involve work on the road shoulder, so drivers should be able to travel the road unimpeded, said Rick Rodlend, the field supervisor from the Department of Transportation’s Port Angeles office.
But late Tuesday afternoon, drivers reported spending an hour traveling eastbound from downtown Port Angeles to Deer Park Cinemas, a distance of about five miles.
