PORT ANGELES — Lower Elwha officials said late Thursday night that American Indian canoe pullers on the 2002 Paddle Journey will leave Hollywood Beach today for Pillar Point, omitting a stop at Crescent Beach.
Canoe skippers tentatively decided to go to Pillar Point near Pysht after much debate.
Another skippers’ meeting was being held after dancing and drumming late Thursday to confirm the itinerary.
Canoes will launch from Hollywood Beach between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. today (Friday).
