PORT ANGELES — There was a lot more to chew on than succulent salmon and sweet blackberry cobbler Sunday at the fifth annual StreamFest.
In addition to fine food and lively music, the event was a smorgasbord of environmental causes and organizations for people to sample.
The event was a fundraiser for the North Olympic Land Trust, which buys conservation easements that keep streams and other natural habitat from development in perpetuity.
It was held at Ennis Arbor Farm, the 30 acres of watercourse and timberland the trust protects for owners Robbie and Jim Mantooth, the trust’s president.
One of the things participants could learn was how Jim Mantooth has dug a series of ponds to filter water running off the Peninsula Golf Course onto his property.
