Port Angeles stabbing victim improves; culprit still sought

PORT ANGELES — Police are still searching for a man suspected of a stabbing at a Port Angeles bar.

Police said David J. Harris, 30, is suspected of stabbing Ernesto Sanches-Andalob of Port Angeles at about 1:41 a.m. Saturday outside R Bar, 132 E. Front St.

Sanches-Andalob was in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Sunday night, according to a nursing supervisor.

He had improved from serious condition on Saturday night.

Sanches-Andalob was airlifted to the Seattle hospital after the altercation.

Harris, who has lived in both Port Angeles and Sequim, is still on the loose, said Port Angeles Police Cpl. Bob Ensor.

Ensor said citizens should not approach Harris if they see him.

They should call police because Harris is considered armed and dangerous.

Port Angeles Detective Sgt. Jason Viada declined to say what prompted the stabbing or discuss the number or location of the wounds.

Viada said the stabbing appears to be an attempt at murder.

Police are also investigating whether Harris is the man who knocked on a woman’s door on the 200 block of West Seventh Street.

The woman told police that a man she did not know told her he had just stabbed someone, but he left by the time officers arrived.

Harris called himself “Gangsta Dave” on his MySpace.com profile, which had either been made private or deleted on Sunday.

On his profile, he listed Richmond, Calif., as his hometown and said that he is about 6 feet 2 inches tall.

People with information related to the stabbing may contact detectives at 360-452-4545 or police@cityofpa.gov.
