A Kirkland-based cable and broadband services company has completed the purchase of the Port Angeles-Sequim cable system from Northland Cable Television
Northland serves about 10,500 customers in the two cities and some surrounding areas.
Wave Broadband has retained the local Northland staff, which will continue to provide customer service from the Port Angeles office at 725 E. First St.
Wave will also offer high-speed, two-way cable broadband Internet access to Northland customers.
Wave Broadband is a newly formed company providing high-speed Internet, cable television and digital cable to about 27,000 customers in Western Washington.
Wave Broadband is also negotiating an agreement with Peninsula News Network, owned by news anchor Dennis Bragg and his wife, to continue local news programming to the Port Angeles-Sequim area.
“We have offered to pay quite a high amount of revenue that we obtain from subscribers to PNN,” Angela Higham, marketing director with Wave Broadband, said Thursday.
