PORT ANGELES — Kindergarten registration within the Port Angeles School District for the 2016-17 school year begins Monday.
All five of the district’s elementary schools offer free full-day kindergarten to eligible students.
Parents or guardians can register their children at their neighborhood school from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays beginning this Monday and continuing through June 24.
Registration will reopen Monday, Aug. 15, and continue through the opening of the 2016-17 school year.
Get there early
The district is urging parents or guardians to register their children early to ensure the most efficient placement for all students.
Children must be 5 years old prior to Sept. 1, 2016, to enroll for the 2016-17 school year.
Parents or guardians are asked to provide the child’s birth certificate and immunization record during registration.
The district’s five schools are:
■ Dry Creek Elementary, 25 Rife Road, 360-457-5050.

■ Hamilton Elementary, 1822 W. Seventh St., 360-452-6818.
■ Jefferson Elementary, 218 E. 12th St., 360-457-4231.
■ Roosevelt Elementary, 106 Monroe Road, 360-452-8973.
