PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District is collecting donations of school supplies to be given to students in need.
Donations of school supplies may be made at the Port Angeles School District Central Services Building at 216 E. Fourth St., or during Stuff the Bus from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 27, in the Port Angeles Walmart at 3411 E. Kolonels Way.
Donations will be given away at the Aug. 18 Back to School Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jefferson Elementary, 218 E. 12th St.
School supplies will be provided free to students in kindergarten through 12th grades, as well as other services which assist in preparing students for a successful new school year.
Many community organizations participate in this event to bring a host of resources, giveaways and information in one location at no charge.
Lutheran Community Services NW, Port Angeles School District, Sodexo Food Services, Kiwanis, Soroptimist International of Port Angeles Jet Set and the Port Angeles Education Foundation are a few of the sponsors already onboard to support the Back to School event.
