More ballots in the Port Angeles School District levy election were counted Thursday, raising the affirmative vote to 71.92 percent.
And the voter turnout of 64.5 percent is greater than the two most recent school tax levy elections held in Port Angeles.
Following Thursday’s tally on top of Tuesday night’s, 8,538 now favor the two-year levy, compared with 3,333 (28.08 percent) opposed.
After Tuesday night’s tally, the percentage of approval was 71.37 percent.
A total of 18,416 ballots were mailed to voters for the three-week, all-mail election, according to Clallam County Auditor’s office.
The levy establishes a tax rate of $2.98 per $1,000 of assessed valuation over the next two years, assuring the school district of $12.7 million in maintenance and operations revenue.
