PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District will host a community forum on options for the next school year at 6 p.m. today and will conduct a school board meeting on Thursday.

A quorum of the school board will participate. No decisions will be made tonight.
Chris Reykdal, the state Superintendent of Public Instruction, earlier this month released a guide for reopening schools, and districts are to prepare for in-person instruction for the fall. It won’t be the same as in the past.
Modifications will be based on health and safety guidelines provided by the state Department of Health and Dr. Allison Unthank, the Clallam County health officer.
No decisions about how school will reopen have been made yet, said officials, who emphasized they are seeking community input.
On Thursday, the school board will meet for a budget development workshop at 6 p.m. and a regular meeting that will include consideration of a 10-cent meal price increase at 7 p.m. An executive session is set for 5:45 p.m. The virtual meeting can be joined at meet.google.com/ehq-caov-hfa. The board also will consider selling property at Draper and Mt. Pleasant Road, issuing a request for proposal for after-school daycare, cooperative agreements with Crescent and Sequim school districts and a variety of policies.
