PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District has announced that a half-day on June 21 will be the last day of school for Port Angeles students.
The previously scheduled half-day on June 18 is now a full class day.
After the snowstorms in February, students were left with five snow days to make up.
The school board added June 19, 20 and 21 to the calendar as school days and received approval from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction to waive June 24 and 25.
The district will still exceed 1027 hours of instruction which is the state’s minimum requirement.
Release times on June 21 are:
• Dry Creek Elementary: 10:35 a.m.
• Franklin Elementary: 11 a.m.
• Hamilton Elementary, kindergarten though 3rd-grade: 10:35 a.m., 4th-grade through 6th-grade: 11:05 a.m.
• Jefferson Elementary, kindergarten though 3rd-grade: 10:35 a.m., 4th-grade through 6th-grade: 11:05 a.m.
• Roosevelt Elementary: 10:35 a.m.
• Stevens Middle School: 11:45 a.m.
• Port Angeles High School: 11:25 a.m.
• Lincoln High School: 11:35 a.m.
These calendar changes will not affect high school graduation dates.
Port Angeles High School will hold its graduation ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 14 at Civic Field, 307 S. Race St.
The Lincoln High School ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 20, in the Little Theater at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Laurisden Blvd.
