PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School District’s board of directors will interview architectural firms vying to design the new Franklin Elementary School and Port Angeles High School at two special meetings this week.
Interviews with TCF Architecture of Tacoma, Mahlum of Seattle and Integrus Architecture of Seattle for Franklin Elementary will take place at 8 a.m. Thursday.
Interviews with Bassetti Architects of Seattle and Integrus for the high school will take place at 8 a.m. on Friday.
Both special meetings will take place at Lincoln Center, 905 W. Ninth St., in room 208.
Voters approved a 20-year, $140 million bond to replace both schools in last fall’s general election. Integrus designed the new Stevens Middle School. The project was funded by a five-year, $52.6 million capital projects levy that voters passedin February 2020. It began construction this summer. The interviews will be open, but no public comment will be taken.
The board also will host a 2025-26 budget work session at 1 p.m. Thursday at Lincoln Center.
