PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School Board will consider restoring roofs at four schools when it meets Thursday.
The board will meet at Hamilton Elementary School, 1822 W. Seventh St., at 5 p.m. for a work session with Patty Wood, leadership consultant; 6:30 p.m. for an executive session; and 7 p.m. for the regular meeting.
The executive session will be to consider employment or dismissal of personnel, review the performance of a public employee, consult with legal counsel, consider the position to be taken in collective bargaining or consider acquisition or sale of real estate.
The estimated cost of restoring the roofs is $400,400. Staff proposes work be done on the music room and gym roofs at Hamilton, Franklin’s classrooms 1 through 12, Roosevelt’s Ridge and music room areas, and the 400 building and 100 building offices that were not restored in the past at Port Angeles High School.
The board also will consider final approval of policies concerning relations with vendors, compulsory attendance, promotion and retention, students and telecommunication devices, student health and high school academic honors.
Hamilton Principal Gary Pringle will report on the school.
The board will consider the April enrollment report. Enrollment continues to fall from December, when it was 3,632, but at 3,676 is slightly above last April’s 3,670.
