PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles School Board will consider approving an appraiser for three properties and is expected to discuss a capital levy when it meets today.
The board will meet at 5:30 p.m. for a study session and at 7 p.m. for a regular session at Roosevelt Elementary School, 106 Monroe Road.
The board is seeking a commercial property appraiser for the former Fairview school property, which the district has attempted to sell in the past.
It also seeks market value appraisals of the Lincoln Center to facilitate discussions about its future use and of a small piece of property at Mount Pleasant and Draper roads.
That property contains a small schoolhouse no longer used by the district.
During the study session, the board might discuss planning for a capital levy measure for the Feb. 13 special election ballot.
Discussions are expected to continue in subsequent board meetings.
The Strategic Facilities Committee is expected to recommend a levy package to the board Nov. 2, when the board will meet at Stevens Middle School, 1139 W. 14th St. The board will consider a final levy package Nov. 9, when it meets at the Central Services Building, 216 E. Fourth St.
A first reading of a levy resolution is expected at a special meeting at the Central Service Building on Nov. 30. A second reading and potential adoption of the resolution is expected Dec. 7 at Franklin Elementary School, 2505 S. Washington St.
