Hospital commissioners endorsed a salary increase to $136,984 and a 12-month severance package for Olympic Medical Center CEO Mike Glenn.
Commissioners voted 6-1 Wednesday to include the upgrades in a resolution they will consider at their July 21 meeting. The changes would become effective Aug. 1.
The board will likely approve the 3 percent salary boost along with a doubling of Glenn’s previous severance compensation of six months salary, Commissioner Harlan Knudson said.
Hospital commissioners recently completed Glenn’s job performance evaluation.
“If you looked at comparative salaries at institutions across the country, it’s certainly at the low end of the market, and he’s at the high end of accomplishment,” Knudson said.
A 12-month severance package is also not unusual among hospital administrators, he said.
