PORT ANGELES — The committee reviewing the proposed Oak Street waterfront hotel/conference center has unanimously recommended that the City Council approve the project and commit a $2 million, 20-year annual hotel-motel bed tax subsidy to the developer.
The City Council will consider the committee’s recommendation at a special meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. June 11 at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
“I’m very pleased with the way things are going,” said Deputy Mayor Orville Campbell.
“We have a great opportunity to bring this project to fruition. It will be a credit to the community,”
Campbell is the chair of the Conference Center Review Committee that met Thursday to review developer Randal Jay Ehm’s required “due diligence” information. This committee has been reviewing all facets of the project on a monthly basis since October.
