Port Angeles residents receive Coast Guard Foundation scholarships

STONINGTON, Conn. — The Coast Guard Foundation has announced that Port Angeles residents Adam and Emily Light are two of 128 recipients of college scholarships awarded by the foundation this year.

The pair are the children of Coast Guard Petty Officer Brian Light.

According to a press release, Adam will attend Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and Emily will attend the University of Texas at Tyler in Tyler, Texas this fall.

Additionally, Emily was named the 2019 Coast Guard Foundation GEICO Military Team Scholar.
