PORT ANGELES — Demolition of the old bridges and disruption of business were two concerns raised at Thursday night’s open house for the Eighth Street bridges replacement project.
The city is planning to replace the two Eighth Street trestle bridges above Valley and Tumwater creeks beginning in 2005.
City officials want to hear residents’ concerns by Jan. 27 for planning purposes.
About 50 people showed up at City Hall on Thursday night to hear a short presentation on the project and ask questions.
“I’m really pleased to see so many people come out tonight,” said Public Works Director Glenn Cutler.
“Give us a chance to address your concerns to the best of our ability.”
