PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Opportunity Fund Advisory Board will consider a funding request from the City of Port Angeles for the Port Angeles Waterfront Center project at a special meeting from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday.
The meeting will be at the Vern Burton Community Center conference room, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Port Angeles city officials are requesting $589,472.71 in grant dollars from the County Opportunity Fund.
City officials said the funds would be used to:
• Connect the center with sewer, water and electricity.
• Create curb cutouts for buses and automobiles.
• Provide direct access from the Waterfront Campus to the Olympic Discovery Trail.
• Allow for a transformer upgrade and relocation within the public realm of the greater Pebble Beach Park.
• Allow installation of lighted pedestrian crosswalk signs on West Front Street.
Following the presentation, the board may make a recommendation to the Clallam Board of County Commissioners regarding the request.
The Clallam County Economic Development Corp., serves as an administrator that handles the advisory boards meeting arrangements, but it has no involvement in the board’s actions.
