PORT ANGELES — One more step toward an Oak Street hotel/conference center complex was taken Monday when Port of Port Angeles commissioners agreed to sell land for the project for $1 million cash.
The sale to developer Randal Jay Ehm still depends upon approval by the state Board of Natural Resources to swap 16,849 square feet of adjacent land with the Port to make a suitable building site.
The board will consider the land swap at a special meeting July 19 in Olympia.
The issue is scheduled to come up at 9:30 a.m. in the Natural Resources Building, Room 172, on the Capitol Campus.
Deputy Port Director Dave Hagiwara said Gov. Gary Locke must then approve the land swap.
A public hearing on the issue was held June 24 in Port Angeles.
