PORT ANGELES — Police Chief Tom Riepe said he does not plan to convene a department review board to investigate Monday night’s fatal shooting of a Port Angeles man by two officers.
The Washington State Patrol is continuing an outside investigation into the incident, and Riepe reaffirmed Wednesday that the shooting of Carmen D. Hudson Jr. was warranted.
“The two officers, I think, responded to this in a textbook manner,” he said.
Cpl. Tyler Peninger and Officer Glen Roggenbuck fired their handguns at Hudson, 33, Monday night after he pointed a loaded shotgun at them and Hudson’s former girlfriend behind the woman’s home on North Vine Street.
