PORT ANGELES — A revised marketing plan for the proposed Oak Street hotel and conference center was accepted by the city’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee on Thursday afternoon.
Now, city officials will negotiate a timeline with developer Randal Ehm for securing financing and a hotel franchise agreement and submitting a management plan.
Those tasks could be done in four months with a lot of work, the committee was told.
City Economic Development Director Tim Smith said Thursday that a development timeframe is necessary because of the proposed International Gateway transportation center project.
That’s because the hotel and conference center plan includes a parking garage, which also would replace many of the parking spaces lost to the planned Gateway project, he said.
