PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center’s cardiac rehabilitation program has been recertified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
“Our cardiac rehabilitation program has been incredibly well-supported by our patients with cardiac illness,” said Judy Tordini, director of cardiac rehabilitation services for the medical center.
Cardiac rehabilitation programs are designed to limit the physiological and psychological effects of heart illness; reduce the risk of sudden death or relapse; control cardiac symptoms; stabilize and improve the patient’s condition; and enhance quality of life for patients.
Olympic’s program was the first in the state to be certified by the national accrediting group.
Recertification means the medical center’s program met the essential requirements for standards of care.
