A Spokane educator has been named director of the new North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center and Career/Technical Education.
Clyde A. Rasmussen comes to the Port Angeles-based skills center from the Spokane School District, where he was director of professional-technical education. The Spokane district is the state’s second-largest.
He has extensive experience in management and operation of vocational programs in Washington and Oregon, as well as the leadership of a regional vocational skills center.
Rasmussen succeeds the departing director, Nancy LaChapelle, a former Port Angeles High School assistant principal who will become a middle-school principal in the Seattle area in the fall.
