PORT ANGELES — Federal investigators have no new leads into who placed a note threatening extortion and food tampering in an aisle of a local Safeway store last month.
“It’s still a pending investigation, but nothing has developed that would give us any leads to a suspect,” Bobby Hamil, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI’s Seattle office, said Friday.
The investigation stems from a note attached to a baby food jar that was found Sept. 18 in an aisle at the east Port Angeles Safeway, 2909 E. U.S. Highway 101.
