PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles High School graduate Arthur Napiontek made a homecoming of sorts this week.
Although the 20-year-old stayed home in Los Angeles, where he lives now, he graced the big screen in Port Angeles on Wednesday when “Pineapple Express” opened at the Lincoln Theater.
That night, a group of his family and friends saw the film, said his mother, Judy Napiontek.
“I was so proud and excited,” she said. “He was so handsome in the movie.
“The whole family was whooping and hollering for Arthur.”
Although she said it wasn’t her typical movie choice, she will see anything that features her son.
Arthur has a supporting role in the movie, playing Clark, a character who knows the main character’s girlfriend from high school.
“The younger generation especially loved the movie,” his mother said.
She asked the theater to reserve the movie poster for her.
“He said he would put me on the list, but I told him that he would give it to me because my son is in it, and I will have every piece of memorabilia from everything he is in,” she said.
Arthur appears within the first five minutes of the movie.
The story is of a drug user who goes on the run from police after he witnesses a police officer commit a murder.
The movie stars Seth Rogan and James Franco in the leading roles.
The movie is rated R and shows daily at 5:05 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday at 12:50 p.m., 2:55 p.m., 5:05 p.m., 7:17 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.
