SEATTLE — A Port Angeles motorcyclist was undergoing surgery much of the day Monday for injuries he suffered in a collision with a car on state Highway 112 Friday night.
His condition was unknown Monday night because he was still in the operating room, a Harborview Medical Center nursing supervisor said.
Before entering surgery, he was listed in serious condition.
Thomas Paxton, 51, was riding his 2008 Yamaha motorcycle east on Highway 112 on Friday when a 1999 Saturn driven by Harold Heagy, 40, of Port Angeles and the motorcycle collided, State Patrol said.
Paxton was not breathing on his own when he was flown Friday night to Harborview from Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, and he had massive internal bleeding and serious head injuries and two broken wrists, the State Patrol said.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were considered factors in the collision, State Patrol said.
