PORT ANGELES — She may not be the leader of the club that’s made for you and me, but Lila Frisch is all ears when it comes to Mickey Mouse.
She was born on Mickey’s birthday Nov. 18, 1928, the day the character’s first animated movie, “Steamboat Willie,” previewed in New York City.
Frisch’s Port Angeles home reflects a lifelong kindred spirit with Walt Disney’s most famous cartoon character.
Her living room alone could easily pass as a Mickey Mouse museum, complete with novelties of Mickey’s lovely, loyal girlfriend, Minnie.
Frisch’s birthright in the Magic Kingdom, and her heartfelt “twin” connection with Mickey, earned her very important Mouseketeer status as grand marshal in Mickey Mouse’s 75th Birthday Parade at Disney World on Nov. 18, 2003.
A cheering, Mickey-loving crowd greeted Frisch as she sat atop a classic, Disney-themed roadster, winding its way through the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Fla.
Mickey, Minnie and other Disney/MGM officials then helped her cut their birthday cake at the Disney guest relations room.
