PORT ANGELES — Responding to a call of two men and a dog sleeping in a car at Lincoln Park on Friday morning, Port Angeles police officers discovered a carton of cigarettes and several lottery tickets officials believe were stolen from the Port Angeles AM/PM gas station.
William Jacob Pearce, 24, was charged Monday in Clallam County Superior Court with second-degree burglary, second-degree theft and second-degree possession of stolen property.
The same day Michael Patrick Lynch II, then 22, was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and second-degree possession of stolen property.
Lynch turned 23 on Tuesday.
Court documents say both men are homeless.
Police also seized a small bindle of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to court documents.
Pearce told investigators that he had gone into the convenience store at Lincoln and Eighth streets on two occasions, went to the office area and took several cartons of cigarettes and two stacks of lottery tickets, the documents say.
