PORT ANGELES — A 21-year-old Port Angeles man accused of stabbing another man during an argument over household chores has pleaded not guilty to one count of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon
Nikolai Jared Logan entered the plea Friday in Clallam County Superior Court slightly more than a week after allegedly attacking 60-year-old Douglas Baker with a kitchen knife.
Logan, who was being held in the Clallam County jail Tuesday in lieu of a $100,000 bond, will next appear in court May 17, with a jury trial date set for June 17.

Logan is accused of stabbing Baker, on whose property Logan was staying, multiple times the evening of April 11 after an argument over household chores escalated, according to the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
Baker was treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center for lacerations to his cheek and abdomen.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Baker called 9-1-1 emergency dispatchers after Logan had left Baker’s property on Ripplebrook Drive off Deer Park Road.
Baker shared a home on the property with his family, who were not at home at the time.
Logan was arrested without incident by a sheriff’s deputy about five hours later after the deputy spotted Logan walking along Deer Park Road.
