PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man is in critical condition after a single-car rollover at 12:43 a.m. Saturday, according to the Port Angeles police.
The unidentified man is 29 years old, said Cpl. Bruce Fernie in an email. Fernie said the man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where his condition was listed as critical.
The man’s car struck the east side of McDonald’s at 1706 E. Front St., and he was partially ejected form the 2006 Honda Civic with his legs trapped inside the car, Fernie said.
Witnesses told officers that the car was traveling westbound at speeds estimated to be approximately 50-60 mph in a 35 mph zone and failed to negotiate the curve from U.S. Highway 101 to Front Street.
Fernie said that officers are investigating the collision as possibly caused by driving under the influence.
