PORT ANGELES — Kevin Len Caynor of Port Angeles has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for selling heroin.
The 43-year-old was sentenced Tuesday to 45 months in prison followed by 45 months’ probation after pleading guilty in Clallam County Superior Court to delivering heroin in July 2012.
Caynor also pleaded guilty to possessing heroin March 14 when the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at his residence at 2925 E. Vinup St.
According to the certification for probable cause, Caynor sold 3.5 grams of heroin to a law enforcement informant for $100 at the Safeway east of Port Angeles.
Three other counts of heroin delivery were dismissed in exchange for Caynor’s guilty plea, OPNET Supervisor Jason Viada said.
“Kevin Caynor’s sentence is substantial for Washington state and is based largely on his prior criminal history, which includes 12 prior felony convictions such as theft, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine, attempted possession of heroin, assault 3, solicitation to deliver heroin, first-degree reckless endangerment and possession of stolen property,” Viada said.
Caynor was being held Friday at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton.
Charges
Meanwhile, Renee L. Roening and Anthony L. Reynolds, both of Port Angeles, were charged this month with delivery of heroin, Viada said.
Roening, 22, was charged with one count June 6.
Reynolds, 25, was charged with two counts of selling heroin June 10.
They were both arrested June 5 when OPNET executed a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of West Ninth Street in Port Angeles as part of a heroin trafficking investigation.
