PORT ANGELES — An investigation will begin today into the fire that killed a man in an apartment complex late Monday night.
Daniel F. Sullivan, 46, the sole resident of a second-floor unit at Lincoln Square Apartments, 202 E. Lauridsen Blvd., could not be revived after firefighters pulled him from the burning apartment shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, Port Angeles police and fire officials reported Tuesday.
No one else was injured in the blaze, though several people evacuated the building and remained displaced from their apartments after firefighters turned off power to part of the complex.
Damage to the building was mostly contained to Sullivan’s apartment, where the fire started somewhere in the living room, Port Angeles Fire Marshal Ken Dubuc said.
“It could have been a heck of a lot worse,” he said.
