PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man will next appear in Clallam County Superior Court on Friday after he was charged last week with leading police on a car chase that reached speeds up to 100 mph.
Christopher Michael White, 23, will be arraigned this Friday at 1:30 p.m. on one count of attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle after trying to run from a Lower Elwha Klallam tribal police officer Monday evening in a Chrysler New Yorker.
The chase and subsequent search for White ended in the woods near the 200 block of Bishop Road, south of state Highway 112, with White being bitten by police dog Bogey.
Officer Lucas DeGand and Bogey were called to the scene at about 10:15 p.m. Monday to help Elwha police, Clallam County sheriff’s deputies and U.S. Border Patrol agents search for White, according to police accounts.
White was treated for wounds to the right arm at Olympic Medical Center and was discharged, then was booked into the Clallam County jail Monday night.
He remained in jail Saturday with no bond set.
Smith’s arrest is the fifth that DeGand and partner Bogey have assisted in since they finished their training in March.
