Gov. Gary Locke will be in Port Angeles on Friday afternoon to present a $3 million check for the North Olympic Peninsula Skills Center to five Clallam County school district superintendents and the president of Peninsula College.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which begins at 4 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 321 E. Fifth St.
At 5:30 p.m., Locke will meet with World War II veterans in the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., for a screening of “When We Were Young, We Went to War,”‘ a compilation of interviews with surviving veterans from Washington.
The governor will then speak to Clallam County Democrats in a keynote address at their annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner, 6:30 p.m. at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St.
