A Port Angeles family’s 15 minutes of fame ended Wednesday night as they won $50,000 on Fox’s reality-show “Trading Spouses: Meet Your New Mommy.”
However, the Wopperer family of Port Angeles received a surprise since it was Ingrid Dancy of Park City, Utah, who decided how they would spent their prize money.
In the two-part show’s conclusion, Dancy gave $10,000 each to children Heather and Terry Wopperer to spend toward their education, and allocated $1,200 for the family to pay back rent.
In addition, father Rick Wopperer received $1,000 to fix his teeth and mother Colleen Wopperer received $800 to pay traffic violations.
The biggest cash allotment — $12,000 — was set aside to help the family buy real estate for a new home.
The Wopperers were contractually prohibited from discussing their experiences on the reality show until after the conclusion of this week’s episode.
