PORT ANGELES — Employment issues for those with disabilities will be the topic of a Studium Generale lecture on Thursday.
Mary Clifton, a developmental disabilities case manager with Clallam County Health and Human Services will speak from 12:35 p.m. to 1:25 p.m. in the Little Theater at the Port Angeles Peninsula College campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
Cliffton will discuss how the theme for October’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month, “My Disability is only one part of Who I Am,” aligns with the mission of Health and Human Services.
In addition to talking about employment issues, she also will discuss disabled high school students as they prepare to move into higher education, vocational training, employment and life in the community.
Cliffton is the lead for the Business Leaders Advisory Council.
She previously served as the vocational services manager and disability case manager at Goodwill’s Work Opportunity Center in Longview.
