Port Angeles: Kenmore Express will start next week, exec says

PORT ANGELES — Kenmore Express will begin flying regular passenger service between William R. Fairchild International Airport and Seattle’s Boeing Field next week, a company official says.

The airline will become the second to fly to Boeing Field. San Juan Airlines started last January.

Kenmore Express’ logo already sits above its service counter at the Port Angeles airport, telephones and computers are hooked up and staff is trained and waiting for approval from federal regulators, said Tim Brooks, the company’s director of flight operations.

“I can tell you for sure it will be sometime the week of June 21. It’s as close as we can get,” Brooks said.

“At least we have it down to the week.”

Schedules, fares pending

Schedules and fares remain to be worked out, but Brooks said the company probably would fly its nine-passenger Cessna Grand Caravan turboprop to Seattle’s Boeing Field on five daily round trips from early morning to early evening.

Like San Juan’s service, a free ground shuttle will be provided for the 15 minute to 20 minute ride between Boeing Field and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
