PORT ANGELES — About once a week, employees from Roger Olson’s company board a Horizon Air airplane to Seattle to catch a connecting flight bound for somewhere else in the nation.
When FKC Co. Ltd. built its facility in Port Angeles 14 years ago, the commercial airline service was a “very critical” factor in the company’s decision to locate here, said Olson, FKC’s president.
After San Juan Airlines’ announcement that it is stepping in to fill the void left by Horizon, the news has been met with mixed feelings by Olson and other regular fliers.
“It’s better than nothing, but it’s a step backwards,” Olson said.
