Port Angeles High School Principal Michelle Reid has been named the school district’s assistant superintendent for curriculum and assessment and secondary programs.
Reid will assume her new duties after the conclusion of the current school year.
District officials are searching for a new principal at the high school, where Reid held the leadership role since 2000.
She was an assistant principal with the Port Angeles School District since 1985 and eventually assumed responsibility for Choice Community School.
Reid said she is excited about the new opportunities her new job will bring.
“The district-level reinvention work is critical to the success of all students,” she said.
“I cherish the 19 years of relationships with all those connected to the high school and know the fine work our staff and students are engaged in will continue.”
Educational support
Superintendent Gary Cohn said Reid’s appointment is the next step toward the district’s goal to provide greater resource concentration in educational services support.
