PORT ANGELES — Financially troubled Harbor Air has ceased its passenger service operations.
The airline stopped flying to Boeing Field in Seattle from Port Angeles, Oak Harbor, San Juan Island and Orcas Island.
“They did so voluntarily and it had to do with financial difficulties,” said Allen Kenitzer, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman.
The company is still providing charter services, Kenitzer said, but to resume regular commercial service Harbor Air will have to provide statements with the Department of Transportation and FAA that it is solvent.
Harbor Air was evicted from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in March because of failure to pay $100,000 in back rent.
It now appears that the company has more than $1 million in debts.
