Port Angeles furniture van stolen from store, still being sought

PORT ANGELES — Authorities were looking Thursday for a white box van that was stolen from Angeles Furniture on Wednesday.

The 2005 Chevrolet is marked with Angeles Furniture logos. The license plate is B70507S, Port Angeles police said.

Officer Mike Johnson said a worker left the keys inside the van near the Angeles Furniture store at 1114 E. First St.

The worker returned to find the vehicle had been stolen in about two minutes, Johnson said.

A man seen in the area was described as 6 feet tall with blond hair and a thin build. He was wearing a blue top and blue pants.

The box van, one three similar Angeles Furniture vehicles, was not loaded with furniture when it was taken at about 9:30 a.m., Johnson said.

The initial report of the stolen vehicle listed the license plate of another Angeles Furniture vehicle.

A State Patrol trooper in Kitsap County ran the plate of the stolen box van before the correct licence plate number was provided, Johnson said.

“It came up as not stolen,” he said.

Angeles Furniture received a tip Wednesday that a driver operating one of its vans — presumably the stolen vehicle — ran a red light in Bremerton.

“This guys calls up Angeles Furniture to complain,” Johnson said.

Anyone who sees an Angeles Furniture box van with the licence plate B70507S is asked to phone Port Angeles police at 360-452-4545.

“Don’t approach the vehicle,” Johnson said.
